Sharon Ellis

Sharon is an Early Years practitioner and HLTA in Oldham. She originally trained as an NNEB nursery nurse and then completed her adult teaching certificate.

She has over thirty years experience, having worked in Early Years within an infant school or Key Stage One.  She has also taught at the local college for ten years,  teaching the Cache Level Three in Early Years Child Care and Education and NVQ Level Three in Childcare and Education. Both of which consolidate her knowledge of teaching and learning theory, classroom management and awareness of learners needs.   

She prides herself in always trying to give the children in her care the very best start possible and has always strived to support the school in achieving the best results for its children, regardless of what government initiative or terminology was being used at the time.

She designed the writing scheme ‘Making Your Mark’ published by Focus Education, to support children in reaching a Good Level of Development, to attain the Early Learning Goal in both Reading and Writing.  The scheme has recently been launched across schools in England.
