With Ofsted now focusing far more on Impact as part of the inspection process, this course will inform school leaders of the latest changes to the emphasis on inspection, ensuring they are well -prepared. Examples from recent inspections and the main messages from recent inspection training will be shared with delegates.
How schools have developed time-efficient and sensible assessment systems (for core and foundation subjects) that help inform practice and help leaders evaluate impact will be shared and discussed so delegates can consider what other schools are doing in this area. How schools can further develop their evaluation of impact and summarise this is self-evaluation will also be included in the training.
This is a useful course for primary school leaders of schools that are likely to be inspected soon, either as a graded or an ungraded inspection.
The session will address the following:
-
How has Ofsted changed the focus of inspection towards ‘Impact’ and what are the implications for primary schools?
-
What does this look like on inspection, what questions are now being asked and what evidence is useful to consider?
-
How are schools developing their summative assessments in core and non-core subjects, and then using this information?
-
What are the implications for self-evaluation?
