Non-Negotiables: Embedding the Basics
Non-Negotiables: Embedding the Basics
Description
Since the publication of the Non-Negotiables, hundreds of schools have used the principle and content as a basis for ensuring a rigorous focus on basic skills.
This edition maintains that schools need a clear map of the basic skills to be taught in each year group. This is essential for children to unlock their learning and make progress. The content takes account of the National Curriculum.
The publication includes a one-page breakdown for each year group identifying the minimum basic skills in oracy, reading, writing and mathematics. This edition also includes the following appendices:
- A page-at-a-glance summary of basics for the whole school in each area
- Ready-made parent leaflets outlining the essential skills for each year group
The whole publication and appendices are in editable form in an accompanying eBook so that you can amend/add your logo, etc.
